ThunderHawk gets an update

Bitstream has released version 1.05 of its proxy-based ThunderHawk web browser for Pocket PCs. New features include support for SVGA 800 x 600 displays, web-based e-mail and more.
With the arrival of technologies such as GPRS and CDMA2000 1xRTT, the handheld browsing scene is heating up. All three major handheld platforms - Palm OS, Pocket PC and Symbian OS - have fully fledged browsers that allow surfing not far from what's possible on the desktop, and Bitstream is now cranking up the heat another notch when introducing version 1.05 of its ThunderHawk browser for Pocket PCs.
The new version sports several new features, including three zoom modes - one of which is a high-resolution SVGA (800 x 600) virtual screen size, support for web-based e-mail and corporate web-based applications, support for more services and devices, including Vodafone UK GPRS, the Fujitsu Siemens LOOX P600 Pocket PC, and all devices based on the Wallaby and Spaceneedle reference designs from Taiwanese HTC (the O2 XDA, T-Mobile MDA and Siemens SX56).

Also new according to Bitstream is support for the RealOne Player (the current version only supports Windows Media Player), improvements in performance and in rendering web pages, an Internet connection being automatically established upon launch, automatic import of proxy settings, programmable shortcut keys for quick entry of user names, passwords and more. Additionally, an auto-repeat feature for keystrokes when entering URLs has been added, along with support for external keyboards and automatic disconnection from the Internet when exiting the browser.
ThunderHawk 1.05 for is available for purchase and a free 30-day trial from Bitstream's website. Existing customers can also upgrade their current subscription.
