A new version of Motorola's Bluetooth headset is slated to hit shelves soon, sporting improved standby and talk times as well as fixing interoperability issues.
Motorola recently unveiled the second generation of its Bluetooth Wireless Headset at the Bluetooth Developers Conference 2002. The enhanced version of the Bluetooth Wireless Headset retains the physical design and look of the original headset, while improvements have been made on both performance and interoperability, according to the manufacturer.

The new Bluetooth Wireless Headset offers longer talk and standby times, and now stores pairing information for up to eight different Bluetooth-enabled devices with improvements in compatibility in order to work with a wider range of other devices. As with the original design, the headset automatically links to the user's compatible Bluetooth product after unfolding the microphone boom and placing the headset over the ear. Smaller than 5 cm in diameter, the new version weighs less than 28 grams and has had its talk time boosted to 4 hours and its standby time to 70 hours.
Motorola also showcased its Bluetooth Car Kit at the Bluetooth Developers Conference, which automatically connects to a user's Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone and allows him or her to operate features such as mute, voice recognition with 100 voice tags, and volume adjustment directly from the in-dash control panel. Additionally, the Car Kit provides echo reduction and noise suppression features.
The Bluetooth Headset by Motorola is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2003 at an MSRP of $149.99 USD from the company's online store.
